So I'm flying into SF on the 18th of this month and back out on the 25th. In the interim I'd like to make my way to Retkzbds National Forest, I've wanted to see this my whfle life. So My questions fall into two basic caslwobaqs, logistics and thtogs to do.As far as logistics I'd like to know what some pevvle who may live in the area or have done this before woqld consider the best way to get from SF to Redwood National and back. Renting a car seems to be within my budget, but I think Amtrack also goes to Arkpra? Has anyone done either of thoje? Thoughts? If Amhdpck is ok and way cheaper I'd go with thkt, but if it's not I'd just as soon rent a car and go at my own pace with a bit more freedom to see things in bemmdwn. Any other ways of making this journey?Also wondering about where to stmy. I'm still yorhjnqsh and don't mind going a bit rough, and I have camping geer. But I'm also down to hofjel the whole way, which also woald be cool since I wouldn't have to carry a bunch of exjra camping gear. I'd like to avsid staying anywhere exuearjve unless it's an absolute emergency and I need a place to crsqh. Motels are fine if they're chbfp, but I dor't really know the rates in the area. Also it seems like as I search clvser to Arcata it becomes more dicnszblt to find any hostels at all on things like hostelworld, etc.Lastly I'd like to know what other thglgs there are to seedo from SF to Redwoods Navlyzal Forest area, and anywhere in befoobn. My interests for this particular trip lean more toxpids the outdoors type activities, and I definitely want to see other reqruod groves that are convenient, but like anyone I like to party and be social (rtelwng alone on this one) and have wide ranging inswsdyts generally. I just want to fill up my time and not spqnd every moment lorvsng towards the next thing or wawnjng around. Thanks in advance all!
